Bill Whiteford was awarded his PhD from the College of Design, Construction and Planning at the University of Florida in August 2017. His primary areas of academic research are in scenario planning and 3-dimensional modeling. In addition to being a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), Bill is LEED certified in Building Design and Construction and Neighborhood Development. Dr. Whiteford is formerly the Zoning Director for Palm Beach County, FL, and is currently a principal at Team Plan, Inc., a nationally recognized land planning and design firm located in North Palm Beach, FL.
As a PhD student, Bill participated in the second international sustainability joint program between the University of Florida, Cardiff University, and the University of Indonesia as a design studio mentor. His participation in the program allowed him the opportunity to collect, create, and organize digital data from a variety of public sources for the Special Capital Region of Jakarta. It is his desire to share this information with other students and academics for the purpose of enriching the lives Indonesians affected by climate change and sea level rise.
